I checked out the Talib Kweli/ Gift of Gab concert the other night. Gif of Gab was great, once again. Talib Kweli spit a very East Coast set. His DJ dropped the first beat and they didn't stop until they walked off stage an hour and a half later. Each beat smoothly meshed into the next without much commentary from Kweli. I was surprised that he didn't break things down a little more during his performance. I was even more surprised to see that the Independent actually felt a little less full for Kweli than Gift of Gab. I think a few people actually left after Gift of Gab's set- that's nice loyalty from a hometown crowd.
